Hollyn is Nine Months Old Today!

My baby is nine months old today! {April 19, 2012} Where is time going???

Let's see what you've been up to...

You have had a lot of congestion (because you inherited your Daddy's horrible allergies) so at night you cough like crazy and keep the both of us up. Every time I take you to the doctor he tells me it's just teething and allergies but it just seemed worse. So I took you to the doctor and I'm glad I did! Your bad allergies have caused you to get a sinus infection and the beginning of an ear infection. On top of teething, this has made for a frustrating couple of weeks. While at the doctor we did check your weight and you've stayed at about 18lbs (18lbs 1oz to be exact).

You have started to get a little more clingy to your Mama... not sure that it's really turned into separation anxiety yet. I really think a lot of it has to do with you not feeling good. You are still happy to go to the YMCA, BSF, and church child watch. You do great when I drop you off and when I come to pick you up you are almost always happily playing... but once you see me, you want your Mommy and you are set on it! (Of course, that makes me feel very loved ;)

You are obsessed with Hank! You just adore him and you cry for him! You love to pet and hug him.

You love to throw your toys. And not out of anger, you just like to throw and you have a pretty good little arm.

You can crawl but for some reason you choose to crawl as little as possible and then just dive for what you want!

Your hair is getting longer and it makes for some great bed-head in the morning ;)

This picture had Daddy wishing he hadn't sold his shotgun... not sure how we're going to keep those boys away! ;)

Our church has started a campaign called the "Everyone Campaign" ("be one of everyone") and EVERYONE got a shirt... when I went to pick you up from peewees you had this on... so stinkin' cute... you are "one of everyone" too!

I bought you a Hollyn-sized pool and and you went "swimming" for the first time. The water was a little cool at first...

But then I warmed it up for you and you warmed up to it! You actually really liked it.

We celebrated your Great Grandma Murr's 90th birthday!!! You were the youngest one there and of course everyone adored you!

You've started to play peek-a-boo! You'll use your bib or a burb cloth... pretty cute :)

Grammy bought you a giant lady bug and you love it! It's bigger than you!

Unfortunately, Mommy caught a nasty stomach bug just before Easter and passed it on to your Grammy and GrandPixie so our Easter was pretty simple... but of course you still needed to be dressed for the occasion ;)

Your eggs had puffs and yogurt melts in them so not only were they fun to shake but even more fun to open and eat!

You are a cracker addict! You discovered them when Mommy was sick and it was all I could eat. Apparently, they just looked like something you would like because you cried asked for them... and that was it! You were hooked! If they (or the box) is in sight, you are pretty insistent on getting your chubby, little hands on one!

GrandPixie and Grandpa Billy got you a walker for Christmas and your feet finally touch! You mostly scoot yourself backwards... you haven't quite figured out the going forward thing.

Helping Daddy and Grandpa Billy clean the garage.
You can say "ma-ma" but most of the time it sounds like "na-na" and you definitely say it when you want me... but it also sounds really close to what you say when you want a cracker sooooo I'm not exactly sure what you think it means! Haha! You started saying turtle ("dur-dle") for your rubber bath toy and sometimes you repeat me and it sounds clear as day! (Of course you never perform quite as well when I get the camera out ;)

You do know how to ask for what you want. You think signing more means "give me that!" And it pretty much works ;)

Of course you still love ALL things music/dance/singing... you seriously did this for 15 minutes straight!

Hollyn, you are so much fun! And you bring so much joy to the whole family! We love you so much!

Hollyn is Eight Months Today!

My baby is becoming quite the big girl... she's eight months today! {3/19/12... I'm a little late posting this}

Let's see what you've been up to...

At your eight month check up you weighed 18lbs (you actually went down to the 50th %), You are 27.5in long (you went also went down in length to the 75th %) and your head is 42cm (stayed in the 10th %).

You have become quite the proficient waver. If you're in the mood you will wave at everyone we pass. (Below: at the mall with Aunt Kristy)

You are starting to like to feed yourself your finger foods and you are getting good with your pincer fingers.

IHOP had free pancake day so we went with Aunt Kristy and you had your first taste of pancake... and of course you loved it!

Mommy and Daddy took you to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

You love your baby dolls and you say "ba-ba" for them. (You also love to say dog ("Da"). You can say "ma-ma" but you prefer to say "da-da"... not fair.)

You started signing "more" this month. This video is one of the first times you did it and since then you have gotten really good at signing "more"... especially since you think it means "give me what I want now!" (when a toy is out of reach you sign "more" so I will give it to you!)

You LOVE dancing! The second you hear any music or someone sings to you, you start dancing. You also started clapping and you like to clap to the music.

Your two bottom teeth have come in and are so cute! (I finally got a pic!)

You went swinging at the park for the first time and had a blast. (At first you laughed really hard... I guess it was funny to you :)

You give the best kisses! (I'll have to try to catch this on tape next month)

The weather has been nice enough to go on some walks and you really seem to enjoy them.

Look at those legs!!!

You love having your teeth brushed!

You like to play the yelling game as we call it. (We make a sound and you copy and then we go back and forth.)

What a princess!
You started reaching for us when you want to be picked up (I'm pretty sure you started this this month but it could have started last month.)

You got sick again this month and it was so sad. I wasn't really sure what was wrong with you... that is until you passed your sickness on to me and your aunt. I truly felt your pain. It was a sickness full of aches, chills and a horribly sore throat.

"Mommy I don't feel good."
Daddy appropriately dressed you for St. Patty's day... I was very impressed!

Mmm... feet!

You are just the best blessing ever and sometimes I just can't even believe that God gave you to us. We love you so stinkin' much!

Out-takes!

Hollyn Does NOT Like Oatmeal

I forgot to put this video in with Hollyn's six month post so thought I would share it separately.

Unfortunately, it looks like Hollyn has her Momma's picky eating habits. (She has the same reaction to any green vegetable and squash).

Hollyn is Seven Months Old Today!

Hollyn is seven months old today... growing way too fast! (2/19/12)

Let's see what you've been up to...

This past month you had one rough week. You had the worst diaper rash ever so the doctor wanted me to bring you in. It was so bad you would cry when I changed you and in order for it to heal the doctor said I would not be able to use wet wipes... this meant washing your little tushi in the sink, with my hand! (Now that's love!) While we were at the doctor you also got one of the shots you had missed. In addition to the rash and shot, at the end of this week you had a fever of 102.5. (Your Mommy freaked out a little!) It lasted for three days and you were miserable! This was your first real sickness. On the fourth day your fever broke and you developed a rash all over your torso. Turns out that means you had Roseola.

This is the first month you haven't had to go to the doctor for a monthly check up so I don't have your official measurements for 7 months but based on my scale, you are close to 18lbs!!!

Your first tooth has broke through! It is in the middle on the bottom left and right next to it your second one is beginning to peek through. (Since they aren't sticking up very far, it has proven impossible for me to wrestle your mouth open for a picture.)

You are learning to wave... not a very coordinated wave but still cute ;)

You can drink out of your sippy cup all by yourself! (This was the first time you rode in your "umbrella stroller." Just a lighter weight, smaller stroller.)

You say "da" for your duck and you know which one it is! (You also say a different version of "da" for dogs... which you love!)

You scoot all around and you are trying to figure out how to crawl... won't be long!

You got moves like your mama ;)

You bang your blocks together...

You have become quite ticklish.

You had your first taste of ice cream! And loved it!

Hollyn is Six Months Old Today!

Today my sweet baby girl is six months old which means she is closer to being a year old than she is a baby. Kind of stings a little. It is so exciting to watch her grow and learn but hard to see just how fast time goes by.

Let's see what you've been up to...

At your six month check up you weighed in at 16lbs 13oz (75th%)!!! You were 27in long (90th%) and your head was 41cm (you actually moved up to between the 10th and 25th%!).

The day you turned 5 months you started babbling "dadadada." On New Year's Eve you looked at your daddy and said "dada." It was very coincidental and has yet to happen again, so there has been a debate on whether this counts as your first word or not... I'll let you guess which parent thinks it counts ;)

You've started sleeping on your tummy sometimes. I lay you in your crib on your back but most of the time you flip over anyways.

Mommy used you as a tutu model for the Valentines tutu I made and what a cute model you are ;)

You currently roll around to get where you want to go but it won't be long until you figure this crawling thing out! (Not sure that mommy is ready!)

Another one of your tricks! ;)

Pretzel baby!

Mommy and Daddy took you to the Houston Zoo for the first time. You LOVE dogs so I thought you would be fascinated with all the different animals. You had fun but I'm not sure how well you could see all the animals since some were not moving around and hard to spot. Regardless, it was a great family day!

I think you have Daddy's smile...

and his goofy face!!! lol!

I bought you these sunglasses and you actually keep them on!

26 weeks
Your laugh harder the more tired you are... it's like you're delirious! Ha! (This is bad video quality but the sound is priceless... the way you laugh at the end gets me every time!)

25 weeks
You are enjoying playing in your jumper even more.

24 weeks

Now that you are sitting up, you and your bestie, Harper, have fun playing together. And I must say, y'all are so sweet!

You had your first Christmas and it was a blast! You loved opening all your presents.

Photo op!

And the prop box turned out to have more than one use! ;)

We took you to the Festival of Lights. You did enjoy it despite the look on your face in the pic. (this was taken at the very end and you were tired.)

You got a couple "baby safe feeders" for Christmas and so far I've frozen your baby yogurt and mashed bananas and you love it!

Your Daddy turned 30 this month!

So you took him to dinner ;)  (this was actually your first time to sit in a highchair at a restaurant!)

You love being read to and your Aunt Kristy love to read to you.

What an incredible six months it has been!
